HOISTING & LIFTING
IS ALWAYS A
HIGH RISK ACTIVITY

Campaigns

Introduction

Health, safety and environment are on everyone’s priority list. How can we make sure that all barriers are set in place and that everyone is involved in work preparation?

HSElife NL is a strong supporter of integral approach when it comes to preparing the activity. That means that all relevant parties needs to be involved from the very first moment all the way to performing the task, evaluating it and learning from it. We suggest 5 steps approach to fully reflect, observe, act and learn from any specific theme. Engaging and have open conversation with all involved, at the office and on site, is essential. Please check the presentation below for the full campaign overview.

HOISTING & LIFTING

All hoisting and lifting work involves an increased risk of personal injury or damage. There is more to safe hoisting and lifting than just knowing the correct techniques and using the correct tools and materials. It also involves training and experience. Only then can you make an accurate assessment in advance of the risks involved and carry out the work safely.

Both Operators and Contractors will pay special attention this quarter at risks and hazards associated with HOISTING & LIFTING. On this page you will find several tools that will help you improve safety when it comes to one of the most hazardous operations in our industry. By organizing activities at your workplace you will achieve greater awareness and eliminate potential risks. The  heart of this theme is a reflective learning video. Reflective learning is not about watching a video but about an interactive session with all staff involved in Lifting & Hoisting activities. Participants are asked to reflect on their own role in avoiding Lifting & Hoisting incidents.
